Aloha (Hello)

Welcome to my website and thank you for visiting.  Here, you can purchase my first book "HOPE through cancer". Although it was published ten years ago, my story of faith, strength, and unwavering optimism remains relevant today, just as it was when my journey first began. It is my hope that this story can be one of inspiration and encouragement to anyone going through cancer or a serious illness... or any of life's difficulties. It is also a website where you can read my blog and learn more about the things that are on my mind and about some of my passions and views on the world. In addition, on this website, you will have access to any new books that I'll be publishing. Lastly, I have started a podcast with regards to ovarian cancer and it's called Teal Time with Hope -- you can click on the "Podcast" button to go check it out.  Thanks for stopping by and remember that sharing is caring so make sure to tell a friend or a hundred so they can come stop by as well.  😉

My Story

I'm a Christian and a veteran of the Navy, Texas Army National Guard and the Army.

I am a proud mother of a cat that is the love of my life and who gives me an extra reason to smile every day. 😻

I have survived late-stage ovarian cancer three times now. It is my hope that the saying "third times a charm" will be my reality and cancer will never return, again. It is a horrible disease that I wished did not exist. But because it does, and too many women know so little about it I have made it my life mission to help educate as many women as I can. That was actually the inspiration for HOPE through cancer. What started out as wanting to write an article turned out to be a book. Though I had wanted to write a book one day I never thought (or could imagine) the first one would be about going through cancer.  But that's exactly what happened and despite going through the insidious disease that is ovarian cancer I'm grateful beyond measure to not just be here -- thirteen years after the first diagnoses -- but never wavering with doing my best to live a life of purpose.

With regards to my future plans and goals. Well, obviously, I want to continue to write as I feel I have lived five lifetimes with all the things I have experienced -- in and out of the military.

Some great. Some not so great. But many stories worth sharing, worth writing about. I also want to do my best to live a good life doing what I can to inspire, encourage, motivate others whenever possible. While at the same time remembering to take it one day at a time never forgetting to breathe and making sure to let God lead the way.

Of course, my story is way more than what I have written in this section. To learn more about me make sure to get a copy, if you haven't already done so, of HOPE through cancer. Check out my blogs and give my podcast Teal Time with Hope a listen. And of course, watch out for my upcoming books as well.

Thanks again for visiting my website!

P.S. Make sure to register your email below to be in the know about the release of my next book as well as any possible events I'll be a part of.

Articles

This was the press release for HOPE through cancer back in 2014.

Although I cannot honestly tell you how this article came to be it was nice to see that this man, maybe I met him when I was Ubering, published this on his website. 🤗 *Full article on my blog*

A few years back I was contacted by an amazing man, Chris Lawrence, who is the founder of a wonderful website, Hope Has Arrived, who interviewed me and published this article.

Organizations

Note: I am not sponsored by any of these organizations; however, as they do great work with ovarian cancer awareness, advocacy and even research as well as one that works to give back to those in the armed forces (AKA military) I wanted to have them on my page. Please go check their website out and if you like what they are about and want to help them keep doing all the amazing things they are doing... even better. 🫶🏽

Shortly after I finished treatment for ovarian cancer, I attended a conference by this organization. I am so grateful that I did!🩵

As I'm a Texan who lives in the Dallas Ft Worth area, it's been great seeing all the wonderful things they are doing! 🩵

The United Service Organization (USO) help those in the military, their dependents, and those that retired. I love volunteering with them.

When I was diagnosed with cancer, I was not sure if I would be able to give blood. I was so happy when I found out that I could. I do my best to donate twice a year now. ❤️
