Welcome to my website and thank you for visiting. Here, you can purchase my first book "HOPE through cancer". Although it was published ten years ago, my story of faith, strength, and unwavering optimism remains relevant today, just as it was when my journey first began. It is my hope that this story can be one of inspiration and encouragement to anyone going through cancer or a serious illness... or any of life's difficulties. It is also a website where you can read my blog and learn more about the things that are on my mind and about some of my passions and views on the world. In addition, on this website, you will have access to any new books that I'll be publishing. My Story
I'm a Christian and a veteran of the Navy, Texas Army National Guard and the Army. I was born and bred in Texas but though I love my state I long to be somewhere closer to nature and somewhere that has much cooler weather during the summers. To say I have lived a fulfilling life would be an understatement. I have been so blessed to have traveled to twenty-five countries, thus far. After the military -- I had plans to stay in and retire but life or God or both had other plans for me -- I went to college and graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas. After which I found myself yearning to discover more of the world and I found a way to do that and have a job at the same time.
That was by way of going into the field of English as Second Language (ESL). I taught in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for on and off nine years. It was an amazing opportunity and experience and I'm so happy that I I went there and it's what my next book is going to be about. I am a proud mother of a cat that I love so very much and is a huge reason I smile. I have survived late-stage ovarian cancer three times now and it is my hope that the saying "third times a charm" will be my reality and cancer will never resurface, again. It is a horrible disease that I wished did not exist. But because it does and too many women know so little about it. I have made it a life mission to help educate as many women as I can. That is what inspired me to write by first book, HOPE through cancer.
It is also the reason why I have not and will not stop sharing my story and letting women know all about ovarian cancer, because in doing so lives can be saved. HOPE through cancer is special to me as I never thought I'd ever write a book let alone working on writing more of them. I suppose the fact that I am here, continuing to not just live but to thrive at living is something I thank God for every day. This is my story, part of it anyway, and I'm so happy to be sharing it with each one of you.
