Alright here we go. Sure, I have my bio. But wanted to give you a little bit more info about me and this blog.
I’ve had blogs in the past. Loved them too. I wrote about love, politics and other stuff. I’m hoping to do more with each topic. Minus the love subject as I’m single and have been for seven years now. Not much to write about there. Not that I’m complaining mind you. I quite enjoy my single life. It has allowed me a lot of freedom. More than I’d have if in a committed relationship anyway. Please don’t see that as me knocking being in a relationship. I love love. I believe in marriage. It can be a beautiful thing. For now, I just prefer the single life. As long as you’re happy, right? Right! 😉
As my bio states I’m living in Saudi Arabia. I’m an English language teacher. I’ve been here on and off for almost nine years now. I’m currently writing my next book about my life in Saudi. From the perspective of my personal experiences. Saudi is a country that has a lot of good in it despite what is often portrayed in the media. Yes, it has its issues with things like politics and human rights. But is that not the same for many other countries? It’s far from perfect. Like everywhere else. But I digress.
Another thing I stated in my bio is that I’m a cancer survivor. Yup, the viciousness of cancer struck my body. The specific target was my ovaries. I was dumb and didn’t listen to my body. Didn’t heed the warning signs that started as whispers and then eventually into screams. And I could have died. If I hadn’t gone to the hospital when I did. Or maybe I was somehow given a miracle as that is what docs and nurses think. It was a bad experience. As all cancer survivors will tell you. But God got me through it. And here I am today to tell the tale.
If you’d like to know more please consider buying my book, HOPE through cancer. It’s available via Amazon and Barnes and Noble. If you don’t know about the insidious disease that is ovarian cancer please read my story. Or the very least get educated on it–for you or for a loved one. No doubt I’ll probably blog some about what I went through.
Which brings me to what kind of things I’ll blog about. Pretty much everything. Maybe more about life in Saudi as this is where I am and it will help with my upcoming book. I also want to write as much as I can about Saudi as I could be leaving come the end of October. Though nothing is written in stone yet. Suffice it to say I’ve been praying a lot about this. The song “Should I stay or should I go now” comes to mind. I’ve left before and returned, twice, so the same could happen again. Or maybe this time I’ll go for good. Only to return as a visitor. Which will be possible in the near future–to be able to visit Saudi for no other purpose but to visit. Saudi is going through a changs, a positive one at that. And more changes will take place. I’ll be writing about that for sure.
My life in Saudi, my experiences with cancer and being a survivor, my travel experiences, my thoughts and opinions on politics–I will do my best not to get toooo into that–and other things that I feel are worth sharing will be what this blog will be about.
I’m hoping to stick with it, as in not stopping with writing/blogging and ultimately never returning to my blog–as I’ve done many times before. Now, I can’t/won’t promise that will be the case, but I’m hungry to write more and blogging will definitely help me with that.
So, here’s to new beginnings or in this case new blogging. 😎
